The Mansura Trophy Seeking Solutions to Environmental Challenges
|
THE ROYAL THAMES Mansura Trophy, supported by Bosch is offered in biennial international competition for excellence in the design, development and operation of hybrid craft of all types, within stated limits, whose final propulsion delivery system is, either wholly or as a stand-alone option, electrical. The hybridity is defined by having at least two independent sources capable of delivering the propulsive power to the final drive. Awards are to be made in 2010 in three separate classifications, Offshore and Coastal craft, Inland Waters craft and Prototypes. Entrants are not required to state the division in which they wish to compete. This is left to the discretion of the judging panel, who may consider an entry in more than one division. There is no restriction on other additional propulsion systems such as sail power. Entries must be capable of accommodating a minimum crew of one person. Craft may be entered regardless of age or date of construction, but must have completed a qualifying voyage by the closing date. Craft entered in earlier competitions may enter again with the sole exception of previous winners of the Mansura Trophy, which may only enter again if there has been significant technical change from the winning configuration.
